TWO NEW SKATEBOARD GAMES

Skatepunks rejoice! Because you have the whole winter stretched out in front of you, but you also now have two new skateboarding videogames to fill that void.

Activision's new Tony Hawk game, "Tony Hawk Shred," is available on Wii, Xbox 360 and PS3. It uses the same skateboard peripheral as "Tony Hawk Ride," and promises to go bigger.

Here's a quote from Activision: "With 'Tony Hawk: Shred's' innovative motion-sensing board controller and exciting go big gameplay, kids will be actively using their boundless energy while riding as any of 'Shred's' pro skaters and snowboarders including Tony Hawk, Lyn-z Adams Hawkins, Corey Duffel, Sean Malto, David Gonzalez, Geoff Rowley, Stevie Williams and Chaz Ortiz; and snowboarders Travis Rice, Louie Vito and Olympic Gold Medalist Torah Bright.

"Additionally, players will have access to Mii versions of all the pro athletes, and can import their own Mii characters on the Wii, and their own Avatars on the Xbox 360 version of the game."

The game is $19.99.

The second game is "Shaun White Skateboarding" from UBI Soft for Xbox 360. The game allows you to create your own environments — put handrails way up high and empty fountains to create bowls.

Here's a quote from UBI: "With 80+ skate tricks hand-picked by Shaun (including a Shaun creation called the "Armadillo"), enjoy a unique and fun gameplay experience where you can shape, influence and transform the city."
